The Art of Real Tiffany Reproduction
To discover if a replica is made in true Tiffany fashion, ask the following questions:
1. Are the designs recreated from original Tiffany Lamps them selves, or at least prints of original Tiffany paintings?
2. Are the bases molded to the original lamp's design and configuration?
3. What was the process of making them, and how long does it take to make one?
The longer the process, sometimes up to three months for one lamp, the more likely a real Tiffany reproduction has taken place. However, some companies offer the original pattern and bases to be filled with your choice of color or design. Thus, while reproduction work is still an exact science, custom stained glass can be added to make your lamp special to you.
